Reconstruction of the University Hospital building in Lviv to create a rehabilitation center for 50 patients

In Lviv, on Yuriy Rufa Street, a rehabilitation center for the University Hospital of the King Danylo Medical University will be created. The one-story ophthalmology department building will be reconstructed and two floors will be added — the center will accommodate 50 patients at a time. Construction and equipment will be financed by the Czech company MND Ukraine, and the contract has already been signed.

The Lviv National Medical University named after King Danylo has announced that a rehabilitation center of the University Hospital will be created on Yuriy Rufa Street in Lviv. The existing one-story building of the ophthalmology department will be completely reconstructed and two more floors will be added.

The first floor will be equipped with treatment rooms, the second and third floors will be for wards, recreation areas, and technical rooms. The new department will be able to accommodate 50 patients at a time.

The project is being implemented in partnership with the Czech company MND Ukraine. The parties signed a cooperation memorandum in the summer during the Conference on the Recovery of Ukraine, and now have signed an agreement, under which the Czech partners will finance the construction and equipping of the department.

The center will provide rehabilitation services for patients after injuries, wounds, and strokes, as well as prosthetics and further rehabilitation. Rector of the Lviv National Medical University, Orest Chemeris, noted that the department will combine different stages of assistance – from treating acute injuries, wounds, or strokes to rehabilitation and prosthetics, creating a closed cycle.

The head of the MND Ukraine group of companies, Lukas Svozil, emphasized that due to high demand, military and civilian patients have been waiting for months to receive rehabilitation after serious injuries, so the new center should relieve other medical facilities in Lviv.
