According to a statement from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, this is the third laboratory-confirmed case of influenza in the country since the beginning of the season. The two previous cases were detected in the Kharkiv and Rivne regions.

In all three cases, the virus was identified as type A influenza. In the Lviv region, the disease was diagnosed in a 72-year-old resident of the Lviv district. The woman had contacted her family doctor with complaints of high fever, fever, chills, muscle pain, and headache. According to Diana Cepak, an epidemiologist at the Lviv Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the patient had underlying health conditions and was being treated on an outpatient basis.

According to the Ministry of Health, both in Lviv Oblast and across Ukraine, there has been a decrease in the incidence of respiratory infections last week. However, medical professionals anticipate a further increase in the number of cases. The Ministry of Health advises following simple guidelines to reduce the risk of infection during the respiratory infection season.
