At the "Rava-Ruska" border crossing in Lviv region, border guards discovered a suspected scheme for an illegal exit from the country through a fictitious marriage. A 33-year-old resident of Ternopil, along with his 49-year-old wife, were traveling to Poland.
During the document verification and interview process, the couple provided conflicting information about their relationship. Later, the man admitted that he had arranged a "loan marriage" with the woman. According to him, he agreed to marry in exchange for assistance with leaving the country.
The woman, who has a disability of the second group, initially stated that she had recently met a man, and then jokingly called herself an "empress," noting that this was her sixth marriage. The man initially assured that he had married her out of mutual feelings, and that the age difference between them was not a concern.
Border guards reported this incident to the police, who will investigate the possible illegal crossing of the border by the man. The couple stated that they were traveling to Poland for medical treatment.
