In the Lviv region, a court closed a case regarding embezzlement during the reconstruction of water treatment facilities.

The district court in the Пустомитів district, Львів region, has acquitted Андрій К., who previously served as the director of ТОВ «Західпласт», of charges related to the alleged misappropriation of state funds during the reconstruction of water treatment facilities in the village of Верхня Білка.

As stated in the court decision, dated October 19, which was published in the Unified State Register of Judicial Decisions, in July 2017, the Verkhnobilkinska village council signed a contract with LLC "Zakhidplast" for the reconstruction of wastewater treatment facilities using deep biological treatment, with a value of over 5,4 million UAH.

According to the investigation, in December 2017 year, Andriy K. provided false information in the construction work completion report, exaggerating the volume of actually completed work. Based on this report, the local council paid the contractor more than 1,35 million UAH, but the company did not complete part of the work. As a result, the official was accused of misappropriating 44 995 UAH of state funds.

A criminal case was opened in January 2018 year, but the indictment was only submitted to the court in September 2026 year. During the preliminary hearing, the defense requested that the defendant be acquitted due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, which the prosecutor supported. The court also ordered the state budget to cover almost 44 thousand UAH in expenses for expert evaluations. The decision can be appealed within seven days.
