Investigation launched in Lviv region regarding alleged abuse by a military unit commander.

In the Lviv region, law enforcement officials are investigating alleged abuses by the leadership of one of the military units in the Lviv garrison. The investigation believes that the head of the military unit organized a scheme in which subordinates did not appear for duty, but worked for private companies.

Specifically, according to the investigation, one of the military personnel worked at the textile store "Satyn" located on the territory of the "Social Galician Fair" in Lviv, which belongs to the commander's wife. He also accepted orders for the shipment of goods and oversaw the activities of other trading points.

Another soldier was assigned to transport goods between stores. For these deliveries, MAZ trucks with production years of 1993 and 1997, as well as KamAZ trucks, which were fueled by the military unit, were used. To conceal their use, following the commander's instructions, the mileage of two ZIL military vehicles was altered.

In addition, from December 2025 to May of this year, the commander, according to law enforcement officials, involved two military personnel in repair work outside the base. This was overseen by the deputy commander of the base, who also released the military personnel from the base. Investigators believe that the command was receiving an illegal benefit for using subordinates for private business. On October 13, law enforcement officials conducted searches, during which they seized phones and recordings. On October 19, a court ordered the seizure of the seized items in order to examine them during the investigation. A criminal investigation was opened in November 2025 regarding abuse of power or official position that resulted in serious consequences.
