Today, November 5, at approximately 07:00 in the Lviv district, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus struck a pedestrian, who was 66 years old. The man died at the scene from his injuries. Police have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code.
Today, November 5, at approximately 07[:00] on the "Western Bypass of Lviv" highway near Rudne, a fatal traffic accident occurred.
According to preliminary data from the police of the Lviv region, a 52-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus struck a 66-year-old resident of the Lviv district. As a result of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian died at the scene.
Investigators opened a criminal case under Article 2 of Part 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules that resulted in the death of the victim). The penalty for this article includes imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive for a period of up to three years or without such deprivation.
Currently, law enforcement officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
