Residents of Sokilniki are protesting against chaotic construction and a lack of parking spaces.

Residents of Sokilniki plan to picket the village council meeting on October 19 due to the critical parking situation on Heroiv Maidanu Street. They are demanding that the authorities create additional parking spaces, review traffic organization, and establish a public space.

On Monday, October 19, residents of the village of Sokilnyk intend to hold a peaceful protest during a session of the village council. The reason for the protest is the critical parking situation on Heroiv Maidanu Street.

According to Tetiana Turchyna, the head of six apartment associations in Sokilnyk, the problem has worsened after the installation of rubber bollards on the street. These bollards were installed at the request of residents of the "Danbud" коттедж, and the village council approved their installation, modifying the traffic scheme without consulting other residents.

Tetyana Turchina emphasizes that the street is located far from the main part of the village, and residents are forced to use cars due to the lack of convenient public transportation and its distance from schools and kindergartens. In addition, the new residential complexes in 300 have only 45–50 parking spaces.

Among the demands of residents, there is a request to define the boundaries of the "red lines" on the undeveloped area under the power lines to create additional parking spaces, as well as a review of the land lease agreement with the developer and the return of certain plots to municipal ownership to create public space.
