Lviv region introduces two levels of air raid alert starting on October 12
Starting Monday, October 12, two levels of air raid alert will be implemented in Lviv region. A yellow alert will be issued separately for specific areas in case of a threat from attack drones – the message will be repeated three times every 30 seconds; a red alert will sound simultaneously across the entire region – for one minute, twice. The all-clear will only be announced verbally, without the "Attention everyone" signal.
Starting Monday, October 12, the procedure for notifying the population in Lviv region about the threat of the use of air weapons will change. This was announced by the regional military administration.
The "Air raid alert" signal will consist of an audible signal "Attention to all" and a brief voice message indicating the level of threat – "yellow level" or "red level".
The yellow level will be announced in the event of a threat of the use of attack drones, differentiated by areas within the region. This announcement will last for 30 seconds and will be repeated three times.
The "red level" will be activated in the event of a missile, missile-drone, or mass drone threat. In this case, the alarm will sound simultaneously across all of Львівщина, last for one minute, and will repeat twice.
The order for announcing the all-clear will also change: it will only be announced by voice, without the "Attention everyone" sound signal. The announcement of the all-clear will last 20 seconds and will be repeated twice.
Previously, the discussion centered on plans to change the system for alerting the public about air threats in Ukraine: introducing a yellow level for drone attacks and a red level during missile attacks, particularly ballistic missile attacks, or mass attacks, as well as differentiating signals by region, so that warnings are primarily received in areas where there is an immediate threat.
