Lviv region: Starting from October 12, air raid alarms will use yellow and red levels.
Starting October 12, a new system for alerting residents in Львів (Lviv) region will be in effect: the "Air Alert" signal will be differentiated into yellow and red levels. Yellow will indicate a threat from attack drones and will be broadcast by region, while red will indicate a threat from rockets, rockets and drones, or a mass drone attack across the entire Львів region. These changes are stipulated in government decrees.
In the Lviv region, the procedure for notifying the population about the threat of the use of air weapons will change starting on October 12. The "Air Alert" signal will be differentiated depending on the nature of the threat – at the yellow and red levels. This was announced by the regional military administration. The changes are provided for by decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and information about the nature and level of the threat will come from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will be transmitted through the notification systems.
The signal will consist of an audible alarm and a short voice message indicating the level – “yellow level” or “red level”. The yellow level will be announced in the event of a threat of the use of attack drones; this signal will be transmitted differentially by region. The message will last 30 seconds and will be repeated three times.
The "red level" will be activated in the event of a missile, missile-drone, or mass drone threat – at which point the alert will sound simultaneously across all of Львівщина. The alert for the "red level" will last for one minute and will be repeated twice.
The order for announcing the all-clear will also change: the signal "Air raid alert cancelled" will only be given verbally, without the sound signal "Attention everyone." It will last for 20 seconds and will be repeated twice.
