Lviv region: Transport companies predict a rise in fares for suburban and intercity buses by 10–15%.
In the Lviv region, 10 transport companies have been informed by the Department of Road Infrastructure of the Lviv Oblast about the intention to increase fares for suburban and intercity buses. According to their estimates, the cost per kilometer will increase by 10–15% — from 3,10 to 3,42 UAH with VAT — due to the rising cost of diesel fuel from 87 to 100 UAH per liter, and the minimum trip cost will increase from 45 to 50 UAH. The decision on fares is made by the transport companies themselves.
In October, the Department of Road Maintenance of the Lviv Oblast received 10 messages from transport companies regarding their intention to increase fares for suburban and intercity bus travel.
According to transportation providers, the average cost per kilometer will increase by 10–15% – from 3,10 UAH to 3,42 UAH, including VAT. The reason cited is the rising cost of diesel fuel, from 87 UAH to 100 UAH per liter. The minimum cost for short trips may increase from 45 UAH to 50 UAH.
The final decision on the cost of travel is made by transportation companies, taking into account the market situation and the costs of transportation.
Separately, in Lviv region, the procedure for cashless payment and registration of discounted travel on suburban and intercity bus routes will change starting from October 12: passengers will no longer need to attach their card to the validator when exiting the bus.
