Over the past four months, 268 people have been treated in Lviv hospitals for injuries sustained in accidents involving electric scooters. Almost half of these, 133 people, are children. This was reported by the Lviv city health department.

Some of the injured sought medical help on their own, while the rest were transported by emergency medical teams. 73 children and three adults required hospitalization.

Medical staff say that most of these injuries could have been avoided if drivers had followed safety rules and used protective equipment.

The city has tightened rules for using electric scooters and other forms of micro-mobility: the minimum age for users is 16 years, mandatory use of protective helmets, a speed limit of 15 km/h on potentially dangerous sections, and organized parking.
