Lviv: Green Street to be repaired starting October 8 — trolleybuses will change routes

In Lviv, starting October 8, guaranteed repairs to the road surface on Green Street will begin. The main phase is scheduled to last from 8 to October 11 on two sections, and traffic on the street will be restricted, as well as the routes of trolleybuses №24, №25, and №31 will be changed. The commission attributed the deformation of the surface to a weak foundation under the asphalt.

In Lviv, starting October 8, guaranteed repairs to the road surface on Green Street will begin. This was announced by the Lychakivsky District Administration. The main phase of work is planned for 8 to October 11, and will be carried out in two stages.

The contracting organization had already repaired individual sections of the street with large asphalt patches in the spring and summer, but the surface subsequently began to deform again. An investigation by a joint commission showed that the cause was a weak foundation under the asphalt. Now, the contractor must reinforce the road foundation and re-asphalt the sections within the warranty obligations.

The work will be carried out on two sections: first, from Stepan Paliya Street to Shota Rustaveli Street, and the second phase will be from Maria Konopnicka Street to Yulian Romanchuk Street.

During the repair, traffic will be reorganized for private vehicles. In the direction of the center, detours will be via Green Street, Petroshych Square, Rustaveli Street, returning to Green Street and continuing on Frank Street. In the opposite direction, the route will be via Frank Street, Kostomarov Street, Petroshych Square, and Green Street.

The trolleybus routes will also be affected: route number 24 will not operate during the repair, route number 25 will resume operation in the second phase of the repair, and route number 31 will operate on a separate route.

The repair is planned to be carried out over the weekend to reduce the impact on city traffic. If unfavorable weather conditions occur, the deadlines for the work may be extended.
