Foreign volunteers delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine are reporting significant delays at the border when leaving the country. According to them, the waiting time at the border has increased from a few hours to 10 days. The Ministry of Infrastructure denies any changes in the operation of the "єЧерга" system and states that only vehicles directly transporting humanitarian aid have priority at the border.
Foreign volunteers delivering humanitarian aid to civilians and the military are complaining about significant delays at the border when leaving Ukraine. According to them, the waiting time to cross the border has increased from 1-2 hours to 10 days.
Specifically, Dutch volunteers Marius and Jan Willem, who delivered humanitarian aid to Odesa, have been waiting at the "Krakowiec-Korchova" border crossing for two days to cross into Ukraine. According to information in the "Yecheryga" electronic system, they will have to wait six days for an empty truck to depart.
The director of the charitable foundation "Foundation of Open Doors," Vitaly Smolin, stated that at least five Dutch trucks are expected to leave Ukraine. According to him, the online registration system previously functioned without problems, and humanitarian aid was given priority when crossing the border. However, since October 12, the situation has changed, and volunteers are now forced to wait in a general queue.
The Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine denies any changes in the operation of the "єЧерга" electronic system and states that only vehicles directly transporting humanitarian aid from Ukraine to other countries have priority when crossing the border. After unloading, such vehicles depart from Ukraine in accordance with the order in the "єЧерга" system. The ministry emphasized that the waiting time at the border depends on the chosen border crossing and its capacity.
